This year’s Met Gala ball has sent social media into a fashion frenzy uproar. From Shaderoom comments to the most elite fashion blogs, this year’s Met Gala ball continues to be this year’s highlight in fashion. This year’s theme was centered around American Fashion and many celebrities and their team of designers created quite the daring and show-stopping looks. However, it was the fashion models who shut down the event. We have put together a list of the Top 5 Best Met Gala looks from this year’s ball including some of your favorite and self-proclaimed fashion models.
First, on the list, we have Kendall Jenner who graced the stairwell in a bejeweled Givenchy dress designed by American creative director Matthew Williams. The fashion model wore an updo bun with minimalistic makeup. Celebrity makeup artist Mary Phillips used the model’s famous Billionaire sister Kylie Cosmetics lip liner in the color “Forever and Always”, liquid lipstick in the color “Angel” and a high gloss to top the combo.
Look number two goes to the undeniably beautiful Fashion Supermodel Iman who worn a show-stopping design by Dolce & Gabbana x Harris Reed. The beautiful gold ensemble included a massive gold feathered headpiece and a skirt cage with a gold jumpsuit underneath. The skirt was layered over a strapless metallic gold jumpsuit, which she accessorized with matching chandelier earrings, bracelets, and rings. According to Allure magazine, Iman’s makeup artist Keita Moore, gave the supermodel her matte yet glowing signature look using Iman's own Luxury Concealing Foundation and semi-glossy nude lip with a combination of Armani Beauty Ecstasy Shine Lipstick in Silenzio and Ecstasy Lacquer Lip Gloss in Luce. This look was nothing short of amazing and an icon-defining moment.
Our third look goes to Model Paloma Elsesser who arrived wearing a piece by American designer Zac Posen. The red dress was draped with a train of salmon-colored lace paired to a satin corset with lace undergarment to peak the model’s bosom area. With a theme of “Queen of Hearts”, the fashion model’s makeup artist included a bold red lip and a subtle red smokey eye. Celebrity hairstylist Jawara embraced this Queen of Hearts look by adding pin curls to finish off this beautiful assembly.
The fourth look comes from none other than Fashion Model Gigi Hadid. A theme that is reminiscent of old 1920’s Hollywood, gave the model a classy yet sophisticated look. The model graced the carpet in Prada with a black and white column dress and stunning neckline. The dress was accompanied by black leather gloves and Jacob and Co Jewelry. Celebrity makeup artist Erin Parsons created a bold powder blue glitter look with a black winged eyeliner to bring out the model’s beautiful green eyes. Gigi’s hair is the show stopper for me! This auburn red half up half down updo illuminated the carpet with its flowing loose curls. This look would have to be my favorite of them all.
Our last and final fashion model take-over look goes to Anok Yai in a black crystal embedded Oscar de La Renta dress. The stunning model gave us an iconic moment as she walked the carpet in a feathery cover-up that extended onto the floor. The model rocked a short hairstyle with stunning emerald diamonds and black sheer gloves. The crystal-embedded dress lit up the carpet as she gave the cameras confident spins and turns.
