Uber Eats and EatOkra partnered together at The Gathering Spot in Atlanta, Ga, on December 14 to celebrate the black-owned restaurants in the area. Hosted by the lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns, the holiday soiree brought Santa and more than enough flavor that evening. Some of the restaurants in attendance were Big Oak Tavern, Le Nouveau Maquis, Local Green Atlanta, Gocha's Breakfast Bar, Phew's Pies, L S Cream Premium Liquor, and Rock Steady Atlanta. Also in the building was the incredible Kimberly Blackwell, the CEO of the PMM Agency.
Uber Eats representative expressed how excited they were to collab with EatOkra to bring awareness to more black-owned restaurants. Anthony Edwards, co-founder of EatOkra, and Jasmine Crowe, founder of Goodr, also blessed the stage with great information about their companies' mission and continued efforts. Goodr, whose mission is to end waste and fight hunger, shared that they will donate all uneaten meals from the evening.
Congrats to The Gathering Spot, Operation Hope, Goodr, Uber Eats, and EatOkra on hosting such an outstanding event filled with food, treats, and creatives. We encourage you to continue to support and follow black-owned restaurants.
